Each year Christ Church presents a season of outstanding music, both secular and religious.

Renowned organists come for all over the world to play our exceptional Brombaugh Organ.

The vibrant acoustic of our church is a delight for singers and all musicians.

We are particularly proud of our concert season this year which highlights local and international artists.

Duane Hulbert, Pianist, in recital

Highly acclaimed internationally as a concert pianist, Duane Hulbert is head of the piano department at the University of Puget Sound.

Known for both virtuoso technique as well as great sensitivity, Hulbert is a true artist at the piano.

Celebrating the acquisition of our superb Hamburg Steinway piano, We invite you to enjoy an evening of music by Beethoven, Chopin, Bach and Cesar Franck.

Sunday, December 14, 5:00 pm: Advent Lessons and Carols - A choral service

Once again the Christ Church Choir presents

the much loved annual service of carols, hymns and anthems interspersed

with scripture readings, each reflecting the message of Advent with choir, organ.

Enjoy this great Anglican tradition in the intimate

and spacious acoustics of Christ Church

as part of your preparation for the birth of Christ at Christmas.

Sunday, February 15, 5:00 pm: Choral Evensong - With two choirs and organ

The combined choirs of Christ Episcopal Church, Tacoma,

and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Seattle,

join voices to sing Choral Evensong,

the beloved Anglican service of Evening Prayer set to music.

Leslie Martin and David Dahl will serve as co-organists and directors.

Enjoy sung psalmody, choral settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis

as well as a major choral anthem.

Saturday, March 21: 7:30 pm: Organ Recital with Jonathan Wohlers and Naomi Shiga

On the anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach,

enjoy a variety of Bach's great organ music

as well as other repertoire performed by two of Tacoma's finest organists.

Jonathan Wohlers is the organist at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Tacoma;

his wife Naomi Shiga is the organist at University Place Presbyterian Church, Tacoma.

Two impeccable musicians play the superb Brombaugh pipe organ of Christ Episcopal Church.

Friday, May 1, 7:30 pm: Choral Concert by the Adelphians

As the premiere choir of the University of Puget Sound,

the Adelphians perform at Christ Church

to present a program of great choral music under the direction of Professor Steven Zopfi.

Long known and respected for the highest standards of choral singing,

the Adelphians offer an engaging program of both sacred and secular music.
